Starting the Year Off Busy!

Last night was the Divide Mountain Explorers first meeting of 2025! We are happy to be back from our break and ready to start the year off with a bang! This year in addition to our regular meetings we are participating in several community events and putting on several of our own. We just kicked off ticket sells for our annual Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart Dance, the theme this year is Barbie: You can be ANYTHING! We are excited to see how creative our attendees can be when they can be anything they want to be! The dance this year will be at Merit Academy in the Gymnasium. The Cultural Center here in Woodland Park where we usually have the dance is currently undergoing renovations. Merit Academy was very generous in offering us the gym so we could continue to have the dance this year and the venue is large enough we will only be having it for one night. Big THANK YOU to Merit Academy for helping us keep such a great event going! You can buy tickets on our website. Tickets are $20 per person and with your ticket you will receive a goodie bag at the door, 2 tickets per person to enter into our awesome prize giveaways, a printed picture, a delicious dinner and dessert, and an opportunity to dance the night away with your daughter and create awesome memories!

In addition to the dance we are planning to be at the John Wesley Ranch on February 1st to help with their Winter Fest, we will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Park again this year, we will be assisting in coordinating the Old Fashioned 4th of July Event, we will be hosting the backpack fence again this year in Woodland Park and we will be expanding to the Cripple Creek/Victor area, and we will be coordinating the Lights Above the Clouds Parade for 1 more year! Those are just a few of the things we are going to be involved in this year and there is always more!

At our next group meeting we will be building blessing bags to hand out to those in need. The kids will also be having a pajama/junk food/ movie evening!
